WHAT IS THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF LOUDOUN?

The WCL is a service and social organization dedicated to the welfare and enrichment of the community. We offer women of all ages an opportunity to exchange ideas and form lifelong friendships. We also provide women with leadership and self-development opportunities.

WHAT IS THE CLUB MOTTO?

The club motto is "The Future is Our Challenge"

WHAT ARE THE CLUB COLORS?

The club colors are purple and gold and the club flower is iris.

WHO CAN JOIN THE WCL?

We welcome all women. Most join to put their time, talents, and gifts to work in support of our local, state, national, and international communities.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF MEMBERSHIP?

All members are expected to take an active part in the work of the club, serve on at least two committees or departments, support our fundraising activities, pay annual dues and have fun! Members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings.

WHEN ARE DUES PAID?

Dues are paid yearly. The membership year runs from April 1 to March 31.

WHEN CAN I JOIN?

The WCL welcomes you into membership after you have participated in two meetings or activities. New members can also be sponsored by a current member.

WHEN DOES THE CLUB MEET?

The WCL holds five general meetings during the club year (4/1- 3/31). These meetings focus on our committees: ARTS & CULTURE, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, OUTREACH, EDUCATION, LIBRARIES, ENVIRONMENT, and HEALTH & WELLNESS.

There are also three social events, including a membership tea, a holiday luncheon, and a summer picnic.
The Annual Business Meeting is held in March, followed by the Club Institute in April.

WHERE DOES THE CLUB MEET?

Most meetings are held the second Saturday of the month, September through June, at 1:30 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 605 W. Market Street, Leesburg.

HOW LONG ARE THE MEETINGS?

General meetings run approximately two hours. Special meetings may run longer. Social events are usually scheduled for two hours.

WHAT CHARITIES DOES WCL SUPPORT?

We make donations to charities and organizations that are selected each spring when the annual budget is determined.

WHAT ARE THE WCL'S FUNDRAISERS?

Each year we hold an Out of Attic Sale, usually in September. Members donate new and used items such as jewelry, books, household goods, craft supplies, holiday items, houseplants, small furniture and linens. The sale takes place on a Friday and Saturday and requires an extra two days of participation to set up.
We also sell home-baked goods at the December and March craft fairs held at Ida Lee Recreational Center.
